Neumorph Input

A skeuomorphic search field carved into a dark surface with inset shadows.

Flat input fields don't communicate focus well — the border color changes but nothing feels different. I carved the input out of the background using a single-direction inset shadow (top highlight, deep bottom shadow) so it reads as a concave trench in a dark raised surface. On focus, the search icon springs up with a subtle scale bounce, and the inset shadow deepens — the field visibly presses in, like pushing a physical button. The spring on the icon and the material shadows do the heavy lifting; no flash, just depth.
